We’re delighted to now stock Cordoba Ukuleles. For years I’ve shied away from guitar brands that have gone into ukuleles but Cordoba are a different matter. Cordoba are specialists in nylon stringed instruments and understand how to build instruments that really sing open and clear. This is certainly evident in all the ukuleles we’ve just received.
This one is an absolute peach of a uke. Designed in collaboration with the brilliant classical guitar and ukulele builder Pepe Romero Junior, it features classical features such as a dovetail joint at the neck to keep things light. It just feels really beautiful to hold and play, with a bright and bubbly Island style tone and decent volume too. The very nice gloss finish has been applied really thinly so the uke looks gorgeous but also has a great resonance – a real open tone. This model features a nice 1.5 inch but width but (the same as Kanile’a ukes) which gives your fingers much more room when fretting chords.
This is one of Cordobas top end ukes and you can tell they’ve put a lot of thought to it. The 2 level headstock is really nice, the rosette is beautiful without being overly blingy and the binding and purfling is neat and adds a nice touch of class. I’m a real fan. And it comes with one of the nicest bespoke polyfoam cases I’ve seen come with a uke! Cool!
NB: These come string low G but will handle a change to High G no problem at all. Please let me know in the comments at checkout if you prefer high G. Thanks.
