Oh my! I’ll be honest, my heart did a little flip when I opened the case on this one. The koa is GORGEOUS with beautiful figuring. It sounds absolutely superb as well – very crystal clear with really amazing note definition. It’s the sound of Hawaii.
We’re incredibly proud to stock Kanile’a ukuleles – handmade on the island of Oahu, Hawaii using all solid koa. The clever bracing system makes them incredibly light and gives them great projection. They are immaculately made. You can really see and feel the quality and the 1.5 inch nut together with beautifully finished fretwork make them a joy to play. These models feature an ebony fretboard and bridge and even include sand from an Hawaiian beach which they cleverly use as fret markers.
