These Oha models are a really cool move from Kanile’a. With the price of Koa going up all the time an all koa Kanile’a will set you back well over £1000. It’s the same with all the big four K Hawaiian brands now. So Kanile’a have created these new models made with solid koa tops but paired with solid mahogany back and sides. As most of the tone is produced by the top these Ohas maintain that classic bubbly Hawaiian Kanile’a sound.
To keep the costs down we also have a satin finish. This is no bad thing because to my ears Kanile’a’s satin finished ukes have a slightly more open woody sound that I really like. They’re not as glamorous as their more expensive siblings but they sound every bit as good.
These come with a free pod case to protect your uke perfectly.
