I’d been considering getting some of these Mr Mai ukuleles from the Far East for some time. They’re really impressive on the eye. Following some great reviews by respected ukulele sites I took the plunge and I’m so glad I did. They’re amazing ukuleles featuring specs that you’d find on ukuleles three or four times the price. They’re not quite as neat in the finish as say a Kanile’a or KoAloha (you’ll find the odd inconsistency – but barely visible), but they’re really good and not even half the price.
This is one of their budget range laminate models but is so cool I couldn’t say no. It has a fun tiki mask headstock design, a concert neck on a soprano body and a nice wide neck that makes fretting a breeze. A perfect starter uke.
The sound is bright and loud and, for a laminate instrument, has a really nice clear tone.
