I’d been considering getting some of these Mr Mai ukuleles from the Far East for some time. They’re really impressive on the eye. Following some great reviews by respected ukulele sites I took the plunge and I’m so glad I did. They’re amazing ukuleles featuring specs that you’d find on ukuleles three or four times the price. They’re not quite as neat in the finish as say a Kanile’a or KoAloha (you’ll find the odd inconsistency – but barely visible), but they’re really good and not even half the price.
This model is very nice and perfect for those wanting a step up from a beginner uke, wanting something special whilst not breaking the bank. The figured solid acacia top gives this concert a very nice tone with a good sustain – a real step up from normal laminate ukes. The falling leaves inlays are really beautifully done as well, making this uke really stand out from the crowd. It’s gorgeous.
The sound is articulate and loud, with a really nice clear tone from the D’Addario strings. Really great value for something special.
