This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an incredibly special one of a kind Pete Howlett 5 string tenor ukulele. It is a superb ukulele made out of Pencil Cedar (rescued from the famous Biscuit Fire in Oregon) and Claro Walnut back and sides. The attention to detail is meticulous, including a beautiful striped neck with an almost sunburst finish. It also features a side sound port and gold sealed tuners with very classy zebrano wood tuners.
It sounds as good as it looks with a very warm tone with excellent overtones. It plays loud and true right up the fretboard.
It has also had an upgraded K&K twin pickup put in by Jon Press guitars of Bristol. The twin pickup produces an incredibly natural sound with great dynamics.
It is in used condition and there is a fair amount of playwear to the soft cedar top but nothing other than cosmetic and it does mean the instrument has opened up with a very natural loud, warm, tone.
It comes with a really nice tweed hard case. I have replaced the strings photographed with a brand new set of Living Water clear fluorocarbon strings with an unwound low G.
