Description

This is my absolute favourite factory produced baritone on the market so I’m delighted to have it back in. Unless you go for a custom ukulele I genuinely believe the best you can get is Pono. The build is so meticulous, as with all Ponos, and this model had beautifully neat rosewood binding with black/white/black purfling. The slotted headstock with ebony faceplate is really attractive too. One thing that I really love is the radiused fretboard – slightly curved to make barre chords easy peasy. It’s an absolute joy to play.

Spruce is a classic soundboard for resonance, depth and sustain and it works brilliantly here. What I love is that spruce ages and opens up with time sounding better and better every year. Right out of the box this sounds great though with a nice bright shimmer complimenting depth you get from the baritone tuning. It’s balanced and dynamic.
