It was a lovely surprise when this same into the shop. If not played a uke from this luthier but I was incredibly impressed by how loud yet mellow this is. I’m a big fan of dreadnought ukuleles. They always seem to have a bigger bass response than standard figure of 8 shapes and this is no exception.
Made by Japanese luthier Shun Yamazaki this one features a bearclaw spruce top with really nice figuring and mahogany back and sides. The fingerboard, faceplate, bridge and pick guard are made from rosewood. It also features gotoh UPT tuners which look like traditional friction pegs but are actually geared and make tuning a breeze.
This is a second hand instrument but in very good condition and comes with a really nice hard case and original spec sheet from the luthier. It’s an absolute joy to play and a unique chance for someone to own a beautiful and very special soprano.
