Description
My favourite thing with many of these vintage instruments we’re getting in is when they come with the original packaging. It really gives you a feel of a little piece of history. This one is no exception though the box is just holding together! It even comes with an original set of spare strings.
Anyway, onto the important bit. This is a rare solid mahogany Gretsch soprano. It’s still in great shape – lots of scuffs and play wear but importantly only one stable hairline crack and it still plays great. It has that classic aged mahogany sound and the bright bark not dis-similar to Martins from the period. The build quality isn’t up there with Martins (but what is?!) so you will find things like the binding isn’t that neat. It still looks ace though!
A really cool soprano and bags of history.
