I was really excited to get hold of this one for the shop as it’s quite rare you see these vintage Martin concerts come up, especially in the U.K. This one is completely crack free and in really great condition. I date this one to the 1940s judging by the original friction pegs and T-frets. Martin discontinued the concert model during the 1950s. It plays beautifully with a medium action and has that classic Martin bark and tonnes of volume! The binding has shrunk ever so slightly at the waist (see photos.) This is purely cosmetic and could easily be glued back in place.
This is a fantastic uke and will be safe buoyed by many more generations to come.
