Description
This is an absolutely superb instrument from U.K. builder Paul Barnard. I actually had a beautiful baritone from Paul personally a few years ago it it’s one of the nicest I have ever played. His work is so clean with an awful lot of detailing and spec that you would expect from a much more expensive instrument.
This amazing 8 string baritone is made from all solid European spruce with a really attractive solid Korina back and sides. It features a gorgeous mosaic wood rosette, a korina faceplate to match the body, korina neck with carbon rod, and katalox fingerboard and bridge. It even has a 16 inch radius fretboard – curved to match the natural curve in your fingers making barre chords so much easier and more comfortable. It also has a bevelled armrest which really makes it super comfortable to play and a side sound port
The korina is absolutely stunning helps give this baritone a lovely warm tone with a nice depth, yet immediate attack to the notes. The strings log/high D, low/high G, unison B, unison B. They combine together to give this ukulele a massive jangly sound. You almost sound like an entire band on your own when you play it! It is a superb uke and an absolute joy to play.
I really do mean this – Paul’s instruments are bound to go up in price as more people hear of his fantastic work. They’re really great. I believe this is a real steal at this price.
